Nuclear energy is required for human advancement in space exploration.
The commercial space sector and supporting industries require clarity and guidance from regulators in order to successfully press forward with the development and use of nuclear energy in space. While certain pathways and policies exist for U.S. government programs, there is no such parallel for the commercial space sector.
Pivotal questions remain. Here's just a few:
- Who provides safety reviews and how much will they cost?
- Will the government indemnify nuclear spacecraft and payloads?
- Will insurers cover nuclear missions?
- What are the implications for government/commercial hybrid missions?
Join us in paving the pathway for the nuclear space age.
